TRIANGLE Episode 16

A new and improved Young Dal appears and he is ready to takeover.

Yang Ha informs Elder he can't accept Young Dal at all. Elder says he will have take back his funds then. Chairman steps in says they'll accept this condition and tells Young Dal to introduce himself. Young Dal talks humbly about his connection to the casino as he introduces himself. Later, he is shown to his office. Elder tells him everyone will be watching him from here on out.

Yang Ha is pissed about the situation. Chairman argues that they need the funding for not only the casino, but the resort. He asks his men to get him a report on Young Dal and to closely monitor him.

Jung Hee overhears the other dealers talk about Young Dal's position. When asked by her dealer friend, Jung Hee tells her she knew nothing about it. She thinks back to their conversation at the hospital. She thinks he is out for revenge.

Young Dal seems to already have has own team in the company. Junho meets with Jang Soo and Jerry to tell them about the state of the casino after the announcement. They tell Junho that he has to seve Young Dal now. President Min is meeting with Leader Bae. She informs him that all the information he gave her about the casino was handed to Young Dal. She breaks it to him that he has been on Young Dal's team and didn't even know it. Man Bok meets with Young Dal to congratulate him. He offers himself in this gamble Young Dal is playing, explaining there isn't anything he wouldn't do if Young Dal thinks he'll win. Man Bok reveals his intention of taking Bok Tae down. Since they can't take him down by using the law, Man Bok knows of the only other way. Young Dal then gets a message about Dong Soo's changing condition.

It is code blue for Dong Soo. Doctors and staff rush in to save him from crashing. They were able to stabilize him. His friend arrives with an update. They can't find the suspect. He also tells Shin Hye about Dong Soo's mother. Dong Soo hasn't been able to meet her. His friend doesn't want him to regret not meeting. Young Dal walks in on the conversation. He tells them he will go pay her a visit.

He is now standing outside the restaurant. He stands there, taking in the image. There is a flashback scene where Young Dal is talking to Shin Hye before leaving. She tells him Dong Soo still has some resentment towards their mother. That is the reason why he couldn't bring himself to visit her. Young Dal enters and is greeted by a woman. He orders his food and waits. A little while later, she comes back out, food in hand. She asks what he is doing around here since she has never seen him before. She suggests maybe a girlfriend. He tells her he is looking for someone whom she wouldn't know. The conversation gets interrupted by the gentlemen at the next table. The lady goes over to them and starts flirting. All of a sudden a young man barges in and asks for money. The lady gives him some, but he starts a ruckus until she gives him more. Once gone, the lady goes back to the gentlemen. They ask why she puts up with him even though he isn't her biological son. She tells them this is her punishment from God for committing the worst sin. Young Dal can't take any more and gets up to leave. He pays her and leaves a generous tip. Outside, tears start running down his face.

At a pool hall, we see the young man from earlier. Young Dal comes barging in and kicks the young man to the ground. His friends can't do anything as they watch. Young Dal orders him to get on his knees. He smacks him in the head a few times before telling him to get his head on straight and to be good to your mother. As he is leaving, the young man asks why he is doing this to him. Young Dal informs him he is living his life like trash and this was God's way of punishing him.

Young Dal returns to Dong Soo's side. He recalls how he used to have this image of their parents. This idea of parents became bigger as time went on. He would think of them in order to live instead of dwelling on his hard life. He tells Dong Soo that it is better that he doesn't go see their mother so that it doesn't ruin his image of her.

Yang Ha is at a bar as he thinks back to his conversation with Young Dal earlier. Young Dal tells him heaven hasn't crumbled down on you, so why are you getting worked up over a thug. Yang Ha tells him that he hasn't accepted him. They go into this chess analogy. Young Dal says Yang Ha's next move is to stay. He had already used Bok Tae to back stab him, but Young Dal informs him that it won't work this time. Young Dal asks if he feels humiliated that he stooped to dirty tricks on a thug like him.

Bok Tae is released. He makes sure to tell the team he won't let this go this time. Later he gets an update on Dong Soo. He asks if this is something he should worry about. His man assures him that its nothing to worry about. In his office, he ponders about his confrontation with Young Dal. He tells his man about Young Dal's true identity and asks that he digs for more information on them.

President Min is surrounded by Bok Tae' men. She refuses to go with them and earns a punch in the stomach before being led away. In a boiler room, Bok Tae approaches President Min as his men surround her. He tells her to answer his questions. He wants to know what Dong Soo and Young Dal's relationship is. She remains silent and Bok Tae slaps her in the face.

Young Dal is meeting with elder and a guest at a restaurant. Elder introduces the guest as Peter Moon, Young Dal's tutor for the ins and outs of casinos. Peter Moons hands Young Dal a report on Dae-Jung's current problems. Young Dal is back in the office. He is focused on the report when he receives a call from President Min. He rushes over to her office. President Min gives him the details of the altercation she had with Bok Tae. They warn him that Bok Tae has a different look in his eyes and has it out for Young Dal.

Yang Ha is at a club. The girl from the meeting earlier approaches him. She asks if he hates being with her. He answers this isn't fun anymore. She asks if he has a girl he has fun with, which he denies. She goes in for a kiss and asks if he is still not having fun. He flirts back that he might know if they sleep together. She is okay with this. Yang Ha is amused and says he kind of likes her. She wonders off and Yang Ha gets a call. Bok Tae wants to meet him now, but Yang Ha would rather meet later. In the next scene, Yang struts his way into Bok Tae's office. Bok Tae wants to know why Young Dal is working for Dae-Jung. Yang Ha tells him there is nothing he can do about it, but wait for Young Dal to leaves on his own. Bok Tae orders him to do whatever it takes to get Young Dal to walk out. Yang Ha is surprised by his reaction and asks why he is like this. Bok Tae breaks the news that Young Dal is Dong Soo's brother.

It is a battle for Madame Jang's heart at the underground casino. Jang Soo's father wants to know what she has going on with Man Bok. She denies that they have that sort of relationship. He wants to know why she won't accept his heart. He tells her about a building he owns. Madame Jang perks up to this. Outside of the office, the casino floor is in chaos. A group by the name of Sek Sek is causing a ruckus and scaring off the customers. They say the casino is theirs now. Man Bok comes in to save the day. He manages to take out the group. Madame Jang is impressed.

Jung Hee meets with Leader Hwan to rescind her resignation letter. Since her resignation hasn't gone through, Leader Hwan says she will go ahead and cancel it for her. Jung Hee runs into Young Dal as she is going up the stairs. She asks how he and Dong Soo are doing. He gives her short answers. She asks if he is going to come home. He coldly tells her he is busy.  She puts on a smile and tells him to make sure to eat and not work too hard. As she leaves, Young Dal tells her he doesn't want her to be a victim in this battle. He suggests that she forget about him and move on. She refuses. Although she can't help him in his battle, she tells him to just finish this battle quickly.

Yang Ha meets with Chairman to tell him about the relationship between Young Dal and Dong Soo. Yang Ha tells him they need to get Young Dal out of their company. Chairman questions why and asks if he is insecure - can't handle trash like him? Chairman advises him that even though Young Dal came with a knife, all Yang Ha has to do is stab him first.

President Min and Man Bok have gathered their men to announce it is time for them to battle Bok Tae.

At the hospital, Dong Soo has finally woke up. Shin Hye updates him on the situation. They can't find their suspect and Young Dal went to Dae-Jung in his place. Dong Soo is relieved since he isn't in the condition to fight. Shin Hye tells him Young Dal recovered some of his memories. He asks what Young Dal's brothers' names are. Shin Hye tells him - Jang Dong Soo and Jang Dong Woo. Dong Soo is shocked and asks again. Shin Hye tells him Young Dal is Jang Dong Chul.

It is time for the casino operations meeting. Junho informed Young Dal earlier that Chairman, who usually doesn't attend these meetings, is coming to this meeting today. The meeting is to discuss a solution to their declining profit margin. Yang Ha thinks the issue lies in marketing. As opposed to casinos in Las Vegas that caters to the entire family, Dae-Jung is only about gambling. Yang Ha pitches an amusement park, which will fill the void of attractions. He gets a round of applause before Young Dal gives him input. He points out that their VIP clientele has decreased 30%. These clients are going overseas to gamble instead. Another point he has is the small percentage of foreigners who come to gamble at Dae-Jung. Young Dal pitches a special task team that will work to bring foreign clients to Dae-Jung. The Chairman starts to clap and everyone follows, except for Yang Ha, who is in disbelief. Young Dal introduces this team which consists of Jang Soo and Jerry, who were also at the meeting. Using their connections, they state they can bring in clients from Macau.

After the meeting, Chairman informs Yang Ha he just lost to Young Dal. Jang Soo and Jerry are praising their friend on his success in the meeting. Young Dal orders them to start planning. He gets a message from Shin Hye, telling him Dong Soo is awake. Young Dal is all smiles as he heads to the hospital. He enters the room and the brothers stare at each other with tears in their eyes. Dong Soo calls him Dong Chul. Young Dal approaches him and they hug. The tears keep on streaming down as they embrace.

Thoughts:
Young Dal shines in this episode. He starts things out right with his humble introduction. His plan that he presented at the meeting was quite impressive. He took initiative and went to see his mother right after hearing about her whereabouts. Even though it wasn't the situation he imagined, he accepted it. Overall, Young Dal seems to be a new man. Instead of a rambunctious thug, we see someone capable of any task given. He also has a supportive team backing him in any way needed.

Even though I'm not a supporter of their relationship, I liked how both Young Dal and Jung Hee expressed their stance on the relationship. Young Dal was willing to let go for her sake. Jung Hee stood her ground instead of having someone tell her what to do. That's one thing I appreciate about Jung Hee - she stands her ground and isn't easily influenced by others.

Bok Tae must be absolutely livid. The way he ordered Yang Ha was surprising. It was kind of like the businessman stepped out and the gangster in him returned. Throughout the series, he seemed to be trying hard to keep his businessman persona up. But alas, you can't deny what President Min said earlier in the series - as much as Bok Tae tries to show he is a businessman now, he will always be a gangster.
