TRIANGLE Episode 22

Who will have your back when things go bad?

Jin Soo arrives soon after Yang Ha called him. Yang Ha informs him he knows Jin Soo was in charge of his adoption. He asks for the name of the orphanage and if there is a way to find information about his biological parents. Jin Soo asks why he wants to know all of a sudden. Yang Ha expresses how he feels like it is the right time for him to know. Jin Soo asks if he can just keep his past buried where it belongs. Yang Ha asks if his real name is Jang Dong Woo. He starts naming off his father and brothers. He wants to know if this is all true. Jin Soo says he knows nothing and gets up to leave. Yang Ha tearfully pleads with him, wanting to know the truth. Jin Soo confesses Dong Soo and Young Dal are indeed his brothers. Yang Ha questions how this all happened. Jin Soo informs him Chairman knew nothing about it. He says he did it so Yang Ha could live comfortably and happily. Yang Ha fires back, asking what right Jin Soo had to decide on his life. Jin Soo admits his wrongdoing and asks for forgiveness. The tears keep falling as Yang Ha tries to process everything.

Jang Soo approaches Junho and Jerry and tells them Young Dal isn't coming. He tells Junho to inform the staff Young Dal is sick and will not be coming in for a few days. Jerry asks about Young Dal. Jang Soo sounds choked up as he shares how Young Dal is having a very difficult time right now. There is nothing they can do except give him strength and stay by his side. Later on, Jang Soo runs into Jung Hee. He asks if she has seen Young Dal recently. She tells him they went hiking a few days ago. Sensing something is up, Jung Hee questions if something is wrong. He shares how Young Dal is going through a difficult time and asks her to check on him. Jung Hee finds Young Dal sitting in a park. He is surprised to see her. She asks what is wrong and he says it is nothing. She playfully says he is keeping secrets from her now. Young Dal shares he found his younger brother recently. Jung Hee takes this as good news and asks what is wrong with that. He reveals to her Yang Ha is his younger brother. He shares how he is having his own brother arrested with his own hands.

Chairman is having a meeting with Pil Sang and Jin Soo. He has had enough of Young Dal. Pil Sang reminds him about the Elder and his funds. Chairman counters that Young Dal is trying to have him arrested. He tells them he won't let this go. He asks Pil Sang if he knows of any ways to get rid of Young Dal. Pil Sang says he'll find a way to cut ties with Elder. Chairman turns to Jin Soo and asks if there is any news from the prosecutor's office. There is none. Jin Soo asks if Chairman will rethink his decision. Chairman stands firm with his decision and tells him to never ask again.

Dong Soo and Young Dal are trying to brainstorm ideas to stop the investigation. Young Dal is more confused as he thinks more about it. Dong Soo tells him to think simply. He says their first priority is to stop the arrest no matter what. If it occurs, they will have to live with the guilt for the rest of their lives. Dong Soo tells Young Dal to meet with Elder and ask for his advice.

Shin Hye and Yang Ha meet up. She asks if he met with Dong Chul. Although she didn't know what was said, she doesn't believe Yang Ha should take the fall. Yang Ha asks what he should do since their sibling relationship ended over 20 years ago. He hears her out and takes it as her telling him to abandon Chairman, who raised him all these years. Shin Hye explains she is only saying this to protect him. Yang Ha believes they have no right to come into his life and tell him they are his brothers. They are the same evil people who have been trying to destroy Chairman and himself. After he has heard enough, Yang Ha walks away.

Young Dal and Elder meet at a park. Young Dal asks if there is a way to stop the investigation. He tells him how Chairman found a way out by having Yang Ha take the fall. Elder knows this and asks why he wants to stop the investigation. Young Dal reveals his relationship with Yang Ha. He explains how he'll have his younger brother arrested with his own hands. Elder asks if Yang Ha knows all of this. Young Dal says Yang Ha can't accept it. The way he sees things, Elder is sure both men are having a hard time. He says he'll see what he can do about the investigation.

Jerry and Jang Soo reveal the truth to President Min and Man Bok. Jang Soo has never seen Young Dal struggle like this before. President Min feels sympathetic and wonders if there is anything she can do. Jang Soo asks if she can go visit Sun Tae in jail and convince him not to talk. President Min asks them to clarify. Jang Soo explains how Young Dal feels like he is the one responsible if Yang Ha is arrested.

Jung Hee and her dealer friend are talking about the tension at work. Rumors have already circulated about Yang Ha's investigation. Just then, Yang Ha walks by. He looks somber. Jung Hee and Yang Ha stare at each other for a bit before he leaves. He makes his way to the office and tries to assure everyone he is fine. He goes to Pil Sang's office to say his parting words. He asks Pil Sang to watch over his father. Pil Sang assures him Chairman is strong. Yang Ha says he isn't as worried about Chairman as he is about Pil Sang. Yang Ha informs Pil Sang how he knows all about his aspiration to be the heir. He warns him to give up on that absurd dream. Pil Sang is flustered and tries to play dumb. Yang Ha says he was joking, but seeing how Pil Sang was flustered, he takes it Pil Sang feels like he was caught. Before he leaves, Yang Ha warns him to watch out for Young Dal, who is a bigger threat than he is.

Bok Tae orders his man to get rid of all incriminating files. His men are already on it. Before he is hauled off, he wants to teach Young Dal a lesson. When asked to what extent, Bok Tae exclaims there is nothing he isn't capable of doing to Young Dal.

Yang Ha apologizes to Leader Bae. He was going to promote him to secretary when he had his new position. Leader Bae tells Yang Ha there no time to worry about him. Yang Ha warns him to be careful of Young Dal and Pil Sang while he is gone. Just then, men from the prosecutor's office arrive to take Yang Ha. While he is leaving, Young Dal calls out to him. Yang Ha excuses himself to talk to Young Dal. Yang Ha states that his relationship with Chairman means more to him than the truth. Young Dal angrily asks if all this non sense he is spewing is because he doesn't know what Chairman did to all of them. He reminds Yang Ha his father is Jang Jong Kook, not Chairman. His supposed father killed his real father. Leader Bae, who isn't that far away, is shocked after hearing this information. Yang Ha exclaims none of this means anything to him and says his biological father has no place in his memories. Young Dal calls him by his real name; Dong Woo .Yang Ha corrects him, saying his name is Yoon Yang Ha. He tells him to never call him by that name. As he walks off, Young Dal calls after him using his real name. Outside of the building, Young Dal breaks down. He keeps calling out Dong Woo.

Word reaches back to Chairman about Yang Ha being escorted to the prosecutor's office. He tells Jin Soo to call the attorney to find out what is going on. He states he will keep his schedule for the day as is. Dong Soo strolls in and meets Chairman face-to-face. Chairman tries to brush him off by stating he is too busy to talk. Dong Soo states Yang Ha is at the Prosecutor's office, what can be more important than that. Chairman tells him it isn't something for him to get involved in. Dong Soo angrily exclaims Yang Ha is his brother, which makes this important to him. Chairman doesn't care about their relationship. He tells Dong Soo to take care of it if he is so desperate. With that, he walks off to his next schedule.

Dong Soo meets Shin Hye and tells her how Chairman went about his business as usual. They were told to take care of it since they were responsible. He feels Chairman must be enjoying their torment. Dong Soo claims Yang Ha will become a monster if he stays under Chairman. Shin Hye pulls him together, reminding him what they need to do now is help Dong Woo.

Young Dal is in his office, pondering over his conversation with Yang Ha earlier. Junho reports to him how Chairman went on with his schedule for the day. Jerry and Jang Soo enter as Junho is leaving. They tell Young Dal about how President Min convinced Sun Tae to stay quiet. Basically, she paid him off. Young Dal calls to thank her. She warns him about how Bok Tae wants to teach him a lesson. After the call, President Min consults with the guys. Hyun Tak shares what he knows - there are plenty of guys on Bok Tae's payroll that can hurt Young Dal. Man Bok knows they will follow any order Bok Tae gives. President Min orders them to gather up all of their men.

Two vans pull up and hoards of men are seen getting out. Coincidentally, Man Kang and the local detective witnessed this scene. The detective calls for back up and Man Kang calls Madame Jang to tell her to close immediately. Man Kang makes it back to an empty casino. He tells Madame Jang and Jang Soo's father about the thugs and how he has never seen them before. Jang Soo's father brags about how he used to throw a mean punch back in the day. Three thugs enter and ask about Young Dal. Jang Soo's father says he would be at Dae-Jung casino and offers to personally take them there. They decline his offer and leave. He gets teased before talking about how big the guys were.

Man Bok has his men gathered. The rest are still on their way from Seoul. He gives them a pep talk. He tells them to think of themselves as law enforcers and police. If they see any of Bok Tae's men, they should rip them to pieces. Man Bok orders them to group up and scatter themselves around the casino.

Young Dal calls Jung Hee, asking if she can meet up later. When they meet up, Young Dal tells her he didn't want to be alone. She is glad he asked her out. They go to an outdoor food stand to eat. Young Dal shares how he lost Dong Woo. Jung Hee still can't believe they are brothers. She asks what is going to happen to Yang Ha. Young Dal shares how he is doing all he can, but he really doesn't know. Jung Hee takes his hand and consoles him. She tells him Yang Ha will realize his efforts one day. Some thugs show up and they take the matter outside. Frightened, Jung Hee calls Jerry. Young Dal is ready to fight. As he takes down two men, he gives them one last chance to leave. The fight continues on before the thugs run away. Jung Hee runs up to Young Dal.

The next, Junho reports to Jerry and Jang Soo. Young Dal wasn't at the villa. Worried, Junho asks if they tried contacting the others. Jung Hee's phone is off. President Min and Man Bok haven’t seen him. Junho asks if they should contact the police. Young Dal is actually back at his old room at Jung Hee's home. Her little brother goes to wake him up. He keeps on calling Young Dal brother-in-law. Once awake, Young Dal asks what he called him. Little brother answers "brother-in-law." This brings a big smile to his face as he asks her little brother to sit. He says it will probably happen one day. Little brother mentions how his friend's brother-in-law always gave him an allowance. Young Dal hands over the bills. Little brother gets excited and tells him to join them for breakfast. At the table, Grandma reveals how Jung Hee woke up at dawn to cook. Grandma seems more receptive to Young Dal after her talk with Jung Hee. Young Dal says he will invite the family over to the hotel and will treat them to dinner. Everyone happily eats their breakfast.

Young Dal arrives to work. Junho is relieved see him. Young Dal explains to him his phone battery died. Junho informs him Miss Sung wants him to call her back. He meets with her and Yeon Jung Woo, a director at Lucky Casino. She tells him about an upcoming deal they have with Anderson Group, the same group Dae-Jung failed to sign with. Jung Woo goes into detail about the deal. It is a 10 billion dollar domestic investment deal. This deal is worth 10 trillion won after converting from dollars to won. Anderson Group has their stipulation though- they want monopoly on all foreign clients. Miss Sung offers to bring him into the deal if he can solve their problem.

Shin Hye shares news of Yang Ha's release with Dong Soo. She deducts Young Dal's efforts worked. Dong Soo says he wants to meet with Yang Ha.

Yang Ha arrives to Dae-Jung. Shin Hye is there to greet him. She tells him he was released early due to Young Dal's efforts. Yang Ha doesn't want to hear anything about his brothers. Shin Hye says there is someone he has to talk to and explains how it isn't too late to decide after hearing this person out. She reveals this person is Dong Soo.

Yang Ha goes to meet with Dong Soo. Dong Soo starts off saying he understands what he is feeling and knows how much he has suffered. He can't call himself an older brother because he wasn't able to protect them. Yang Ha can deny his relationship with his brothers, but Dong Soo asks him not to deny their father. His words cause Yang Ha to look up. Dong Soo wishes he would always remember their father in his heart. He tells Yang Ha he is trying to stop Young Dal because he can no longer stand to see them fight. He won't force a relationship between the two if it will make them unhappy. He says he will do as Yang Ha wishes. His only wish for Yang Ha is not to follow in the Chairman's footsteps. There are things more important than money. To know that the Chairman taught him "money is everything" saddens Dong Soo the most. After saying everything he wanted, Dong Soo leaves. Yang Ha sits there in deep thought.

Yang Ha and Jin Soo are greeted by a happy Chairman. He smiles and goes to hug Yang Ha, who is surprised by his actions. Chairman tells him good work. They sit and Chairman asks how he was able to be released so quickly. Yang Ha says it was all because of Chairman's efforts. Chairman tells him to rest up and return to his CEO position. He even says to Yang Ha he can work as hard as he likes. Next, Chairman informs him he is going to get rid of Young Dal. Yang Ha is also surprised at this. He asks about the Elder. Chairman assures him he will take care of it.

Bok Tae gets news of the investigation and is finally able to breath. He orders his man to reserve the club and to invite Pil Sang. He needs a drink after all the anxiety he had over the last few days. This sense of relief is better than a jackpot to him.

Young Dal, Jerry, and Jang Soo are out at a food stand. Young Dal tells them all about the deal. The guys are over the moon about it. Junho joins them and informs them of Yang Ha's release. This puts a smile on Young Dal's face. At that moment, he gets a call from a drunken Dong Soo. Dong Soo praises him, saying this happened all because of him. He mentions he is too ashamed to see him. Dong Soo explains how he never did anything nice for Young Dal as an older brother and apologizes. He gets emotional as he reveals how it pains him when he thinks of Young Dal. He feels sick to his stomach when thinks of how they all separated. When he thinks of the Chairman, he feels like he'll burst and lose his mind. All of this is the reason he drank. Dong Soo starts talking about how much he misses their dad tonight. This causes him to bawl. He asks what they were going to do about Dong Woo before hanging up. He continues to cry. On the other end, Young Dal is also crying. Yang Ha is also drinking tonight as he recounts his conversations with Dong Soo and Chairman.

Yang Ha gets a welcoming as he returns to Dae-Jung as CEO. Pil Sang and Leader Hwan are watching overhead. She takes a jab at him, saying he couldn't even become CEO. She states Yang Ha is now in Chairman's good graces after stepping up. Pil Sang corrects her, saying Chairman doesn't favor anyone. Instead he only cares about how to use people in his favor. In his eyes, this is the perfect opportunity to pit the Chairman and Yang Ha against each other.

Leader Bae and Yang Ha are discussing some matters as they walk. Yang Ha gets a call from Chairman. Chairman informs him he took care of Elder and tells him to take care of Young Dal. Jerry, Jang Soo, and Young Dal are just arriving. Junho rushes to them and informs them Elder got into a car accident. Not wasting any time, Young Dal runs out. Yang Ha is standing nearby in shock after hearing everything.

Thoughts:
NOOOOOOO, not the Elder. This better not be the first bloodshed.

One important thing to point out in this episode is the contrast of support Young Dal has versus Yang Ha. Young Dal doesn't answer his phone and the whole crew goes into panic mode. Yang Ha is taken away to the prosecutor's office and nothing, nada, nil. Chairman goes on with business as usual. Leader Bae is in no position where he can help. The only people that helped were Young Dal, Dong Soo, and Shin Hye. It's sad.

Young Dal's personality can get him far. Look at everyone he has supporting him. He is humble and genuine. He gets what he gives and he gives a lot. I really hope the deal with Miss Sung is real and not a set up. He has what it takes and if given this opportunity, it will be life changing to say the least.

Dong Soo is eaten away by guilt. He seems to be able to hold his emotions in better than before. But give him some drinks and it all pours on. I noticed he sighs a lot. In the scene where he confronted Chairman, he sighed and sighed after the Chairman left.

I liked Dong Soo's approach to talking with Yang Ha. He was gentler. He didn't try to force anything and make him feel something. He expressed his humble wishes and left. But his words left a great impact on Yang Ha as we see during his scenes with Chairman following this conversation. Everything Chairman does and says become analyzed and he remembers back to what Dong Soo said.
